12 PROJECTS IN 12 MONTHS / #2.

Second project for the second month of the year, is a places we've been sheet! Another easy project that took very little time, and turned out super cute if I could only figure out how to stitch better.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to stitch by hand or whatever you want to call it. It always turns out to be a disaster, but I made it work for me.
I cut a piece of white cardstock to 5x7 size, printed off a map of the United States and traced it onto the paper by pressing really hard with a pen to leave indentation marks. I then outlined the map with a thin black sharpie marker.
For each state, I outlined with little marks with a regular black pen.
As you can see, I am not the best at hand stitching, it frustrates me but I keep doing it to try and get better. Used different colored embroidery thread for each state that we have been to.
Hand wrote "Places We've Been" with regular markers.
We have been to a couple more states, but ran out of time to finish because of a little two year old who got up from her nap. Fun little project to do though, especially if you are good at hand stitching. You could do different designs with the thread, or just do them all the same. Hope to fill in more states in the future!
