12 PROJECTS IN 12 MONTHS / #1.

First up! Quilted cards. These were so easy and fun to do! You could do any design, since Valentines Day is coming up I thought I'd do something with a heart.
All you need is some cardstock, something that is a little thicker than regular paper. Scrap fabric, a needle and thread, and some tape.
I drew some squares on the cardstock, and then measured each piece of fabric to fit in each square. Taped each piece of fabric onto the cardstock. I used regular tape, but double-sided tape might've worked better. Used white thread, and went through each square with a needle.
For the heart, I drew a heart on the back of some fabric. Taped it on top of the four squares already on the fabric, and then went through the heart with the needle/white thread.
And voila! You have yourself a quilted card! You could do so many different versions of this, and it's so easy to do! A cute alternative to sending cards to someone. You could even handwrite something on a piece of fabric, and sew that on as well.  Have fun with it!
