This past week, we were able to get away just the two of us for a short quick wonderfully awesome trip to Florida. It was amazing. Two and a half days at the beach...
When we got to the airport we both got some Starbucks! Kev got a regular latte, I tried a cinnamon latte, it was delicious!
I surprised Kev with upgrading our seats to economy comfort on the way down, more leg room and free booze! Before we left, we downloaded the movie Daddy's Home on our iPad, and enjoyed some pistachios and Blue Moon.
Beautiful view as we flew over the ocean!
When we arrived in Florida, the weather was beautiful. Mid 80's, low humidity, sunshine for miles. We put our swimsuits on and headed straight to the beach. Didn't waste any time.
Day 1.
We stayed all day until dinner time. The water was freezing though, we went in to our knees. I did not get any photos but we saw some stingrays! The brown kind that blend into the sand. I freak out about that kinda stuff, so I always do the stingray shuffle as we walked in the water.
After all day at the beach, we ate dinner at one of our favorite places called "The Beach". It's right on the water, the food is just okay but the atmosphere is fun!
When we got back to the condo we took a dip in the hot tub. The actual pool was cold and the wind was crazy so the hot tub felt awesome.
Day 2. Breakfast at The Speckled Egg.  Pretty good.
When it's just the two of us, we literally sit on the beach all day long. People watch. Talk. Sleep. Drink. Repeat. It's the most relaxing thing in the world to me.
After the beach we headed back a little earlier so we could head out to dinner. We hot tubbed it again, the jets were not working but the water was still warm.
Ate dinner at a new place downtown called The Lodge. It was so so good. The bar was like an old wooden cabin. Kev is slowly branching out with his food lol He tried smoked fish dip and liked it! Mikey likes it! haha He ordered brisket and I ordered steak. So so good.
After dinner we ate some ice cream and did not feel one ounce of guilt! Then headed to the Firestone Sky Bar, very cool place! It's this outside bar that is on top of a restaurant with a pretty sweet view of the city. Saw some interesting people for sure, we were cracking up the whole time!
Last day.
Eggs and fruit again for breakfast, then headed to the beach!
The drive to the beach is so pretty, we always take a picture of it with the palm trees. Apples for a snack. And it's so funny, every time at the beach their's always those people who put their chairs right in front of us or right next to us, so close you can hear their conversations. We don't mind though, makes for interesting people watching.
Ate lunch at a new place on the beach! It's called Sunset Beach Tropical Grill. It used to be a crunchy old bar until someone bought it and revamped it into a nice bar and grill. Food was delicious too. We got a steak and cheese pizza! First time having pizza in 3+ months, it was the best.
The big boat at the top of this picture had tons of people dancing in the front. Looked like a fun ass time. And there's Kev waving at me in the bottom photo. On the last day the water seemed to be a good 10 degrees warmer, it felt amazing.
Love the pictures my parents send me of Miss Hadley. Missed her so so much!
We stayed at the beach until almost sunset, then met my Aunt Cindy for dinner.
Left on a beautiful day, couldn't have asked for better weather. I don't think it ever reached 85. It was the best. I like going to Florida when it's not 100 degrees outside, when you drip with sweat just walking outside.

When we got home we grilled out for dinner, and hung outside a little bit. It was such a nice relaxing trip just the two of us. We need that every once in awhile. Life can get hectic some days, and it's not always easy to make time together. We were lucky to be able to take this trip, even for just a few days, it felt like a week.
