project 23 of 33 : marbled paper.

With yesterday's exciting news, it's been hard to focus on the project front. All that's in this brain of mine is i'm getting married!!! With that being said, I am bummed to say this will be the last project of the projects. Until I get in the groove of all this happiness (I can't stop smiling), these will have to go bye bye.

Without further ado, I present project 23 of 33 : marbled paper.  This was a fun one!
Doesn't it look cool? I can't believe you can actually make marbled paper!
The supplies (like most of these projects) you probably have in the house already.

Supplies needed:
  • cookie sheet (use the crappiest one you have)
  • cardstock paper
  • shaving cream
  • acrylic paint
  • tooth picks
Spray the shaving cream on the pan, then use a spoon to spread it all over the cookie sheet evenly. It doesn't have to be thick, just even so you can't see the cookie sheet through the cream. So in other words, just make sure all the cream is covering the pan.

I've seen this next part used two different ways. You can use acrylic paint or food coloring. I used acrylic paint because I wasn't sure how the food coloring would look. So I squirted a few drops of the paint all over the shaving cream.
Next use the toothpick(s) and start swirling it around. This part was the most fun and if you have kiddos doing it with you they would love this part. You can make it as messy or as clean cut as you want.
Next you will take the piece of cardstock paper and lay it on top of all the shaving cream/coloring. Lightly press down all over the paper, try not to smudge or smear. I lightly tapped it all over and made sure every square inch of the paper was touching the shaving cream.
This next part was pure magic. It amazed me. It's hard to see in the photos, but the top half of the photo is what the paper looked like after I peeled it off the cookie sheet shaving cream mess.

The second half of the photo is what it looks like after you take the shaving cream off. To do that, I used an old credit card or shopping card and literally smeared it off. Like I said pure magic.
And that is how you make marbled paper. It was really cool and I can't wait to let the kids try this. It's really easy and cheap. A can of shaving cream can cost a $1.50? Get the cheapo kind. Pretty cool.

I will share more thoughts on these projects later and do something like a recap. It's been a ton of fun for sure.
