project 22 of 33 : striped pencils

Moving right along....but probably not going to finish these projects! But doing the best I can to try.  Welcome to project #22. Striped pencils. Very cute and as always easy!
When picking these projects out, I am trying to find ones that have supplies I already have on hand. With that being said, the supplies needed are above in the photo. I ended up not using the markers, but you could use the markers to write polka dots on the pencils, or whatever shape you'd like.
Used the washi tape to tape the ends of the pencils. If you do not have washi tape on hand, you can use any type of tape or paper to cover the parts you don't want paint to get on.
I didn't know how I was going to let the paint dry so I came up with an old cardboard box (from Kevin's Valentines Day gift), punched holes in the cardboard big enough to fit the pencils.
To have different designs, I used the washi tape to form stripes down the pencils.
After the pencils were painted I set them in the cardboard box to dry.
And voila....painted striped pencils! The purple one was still wet and with me being inpatient with some things I just took a photo of the three that dried. For the all yellow pencil, this is where you could use the markers and write polka dots all over, or any design of your choosing.
