project 21 of 33 : embroidered cards.

On a roll! 21 projects down....12 to go! These were so fun to make! They should have reached their destinations by now, so I'm sharing them today!
Found these examples on Flickr and thought hmmmm Valentine's Day cards? Yes!
Supplies needed:
  • piece of thick cardboard
  • needle (embroidery)
  • pushpin
  • pencil
  • embroidery floss
  • cardstock paper
Found out after I bought the embroidery floss, that I do not have an embroidery needle. With that said, I had to use plain thread, because the embroidery floss will not fit through a regular sewing needle. Unless your hands work better than mine, I couldn't get it to work.
I used a few different designs and had fun with it. Poking the actual holes in the card started to hurt the thumb after awhile. The more detailed the design, the more work obviously. This first one was really simple, just I ♥ U.  Easy.
You can have fun with this and choose just about any design/theme you'd like. My family loves handmade things, especially my Mom. She appreciates it so much.
Even Natalie joined me and did one for her brother. "Brady & Natalie". So cute.
