project 17 of 33 : envelope liners.

Wonder if I can finish 16 more projects before March 3rd??  I'm going to try that's for sure!
Envelope liners are so fun to do. I've always heard about people doing their own before, but never actually tried it. You could do just about anything you wanted. I saw this idea on this site and decided to put my own little spin on it.
If you've been following along these projects, by now you should be used to these being all fairly easy and the supplies are pretty much already laying around.

Supplies needed for DIY envelope liners:
  • colored pencils
  • blank envelopes
  • cardstock paper
  • scissors
  • tape/adhesive
Next step after you've got all the supplies, is draw your own design! I drew chevron, swirly lines, and a valentines day theme. Their are so many different alternatives you could do.......!
Take the piece of cardstock with the design on it, lay it under the envelope you are going to use. I traced the actual envelope with a pencil. I cut a little farther away than the line I traced so the cardstock would fit snug in the envelope.
Use your tape/adhesive to place the liner in the envelope. I only taped the top triangle area instead of the entire piece, because I couldn't figure out how to get the paper in without sticking to the envelope and getting all out of place! lol That worked for me. I'm sure their are other ways, but that's how I did it.
There you have it. DIY envelope liners. Pretty sweet huh? Fun little project. Have fun with it, and make it your own!
