project 3 of 33 : fabric napkins.

As mentioned in yesterday's post, I learned to sew. Woo hoo! Another one marked off the bucket list. Attempted to sew some napkins. The only fabric I had on hand was the thick upholstery kind from when I re-covered the dining room chairs
For measuring, I pretty much winged it. Like literally, just took the big piece that was left over and cut it down to 4 individual squares.
After each of the pieces were cut into squares, I turned over the fabric folded the sides over.  Used an iron to get the creases straight because this stuff is so thick.
As you can see, the lines definitely are not perfect. But not too bad for a first timer. I have to say I was pretty darn proud of myself.  I was being all giddy like "i just sewed something now what?!?!" LOL
These napkins can also be used as place mats. I like it both ways. Kev walked into the dining room and took a double take and said "babe you sewed those?" (insert big smile here) =)
I hope this inspires any new beginners learning how to sew or just thinking about it. It was such an awesome sense of accomplishment!!!
